Sandy Finlayson

Elder Sandy Finlayson is Director of Library Services and Professor of Theological Bibliography at Westminster Theological Seminary.  Sandy has degrees from the University of Toronto, MLS, and Tyndale Theological Seminary, MTS. Sandy previously served as a ruling elder in the Toronto congregation of the Free Church of Scotland.  He is the author of; Unity and Diversity: the Founders of the Free Church of Scotland

He has contributed to other books, including: The Biographical Dictionary of Evangelicals and

Justified in Christ: God's Plan for us in Justification.

Sandy is married to Linda, who is the Administrative Assistant at Cornerstone and the author of books for children.
They have one son.

Richard B. Gaffin Jr

Elder Richard B. Gaffin Jr., is Professor of Biblical and Systematic Theology, Emeritus at Westminster Theological Seminary. He holds degrees from Calvin College (B.A. 1958) and Westminster Theological Seminary (B.D., 1961; Th.M., 1962; TH.D. 1969), and additional graduate studies at the Georg-August Universitat, Gottingen (1962-1963),  
Dr. Gaffin teaches and preaches around the world and is the author of many articles and books, including;

Calvin and the Sabbath,

God's Word in Servant Form: Abraham Kuyper and Herman Bavinck and the Doctrine of Scripture and

Perspectives on Pentecost.

Dick and his wife Jean, have three children and nine grandchildren.

Tom Sorkness

Elder Tom Sorkness has been an ordained elder in the OPC for more than twenty years. He and his family began attending Cornerstone Presbyterian Church (then Gwynedd Valley OPC) in 2006. Tom has been at various times both a history teacher and administrator at Philadelphia-Montgomery Christian Academy for the past 25 years. He and his wife Lois have eight children. Both Tom and Lois serve on the planning committee for the Presbyterian Family Week held annually at Harvey Cedars Bible Conference in New Jersey.

Carl R. Trueman, Pastor

In addition to being our pastor, Carl R. Trueman is Professor of Historical Theology and Church History and Paul Wooley Chair of Church History at Westminster Theological Seminary. Carl has degrees from St. Catharine's College, Cambridge, MA and the University of Aberdeen, Ph.D.

Our deacons

Ben Dahlvang

Ben Dahlvang and his wife Anna have been members of Cornerstone since 2008. They moved here from Minnesota in order for Ben to study at Westminster Theological Seminary, where he is currently an M.Div student. Before moving to Pennsylvania, Ben worked in the construction industry for 8 years.

Tim Roof

Deacon Tim Roof has been tuning and repairing pianos for private residences and in concert settings since 1983. In 1999 he began his own piano service business. With a degree in Journalism, and as a book lover, he serves as Cornerstone's librarian, and as an usher. Tim is married to Donna and they have three sons. The Roofs are one of the original charter member families of Gwynedd Valley Presbyterian Church (now Cornerstone), having attended the church since 1994.

Tim Swann

Tim Swann was born and raised in the OPC.  When Tim returned to this area after going to College in Williamsport,PA, he found a church home at Cornerstone.  Tim works as a welder in Willow Grove, PA.  He is also an active crew member of the Glenside Fire Company. He currently lives in Glenside and is the proud uncle of a niece and a nephew.
